16.310.100 Residential Code - Adoption

The 2024 International Residential Code, as published by the International Code Council, Inc., is hereby adopted by reference as the Residential Code of the City of Overland Park, save and except such parts or portions thereof as are specifically deleted, added or changed in the City Code. At least one copy shall be marked “Official Copy as Incorporated by Ordinance No. BC-3513” and filed with the City Clerk for inspection by the public during reasonable business hours, with all sections or portions thereof intended to be deleted, added or changed clearly marked to show any deletions, additions or changes.

Note: new construction of single-family residences that (i) are less than 2,500 square feet of total livable floor area, or gross floor area minus garages and basements, in size, and (ii) are constructed on each such residence’s own separate lot or parcel with its own individual legal description, may utilize the 2018 International Residential Code as adopted by OPMC 16.110.100 et seq., in accordance with Kansas Statute (as may be amended).
